to meet congressional leaders have encouraged President John F. Kennedy inaugural address, which motivated a nation 50 years ago - WASHINGTON.
In the Capitol Rotunda, Congress heard officers, support staff, and members of the Kennedy family to sit on the 14-minute, 1355-word speech that Kennedy delivered a stormy day in 1961.
Top congressional leaders - including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Speaker of the House John Boehner, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and - attended the event.
"Unfortunately, this is the first conference without Kennedy convened since the Truman administration," Boehner said before about the president's daughter. "Caroline, there is still time."
Vice President Joe Biden and Senator John Kerry, Democrat of Massachusetts, both the speech.
"He has to call President Kennedy in 1355 that the words set to a new generation to generation motion of service and sacrifice - the fire of idealism and patriotism of millions of Americans spark," said Kerry.
Several Republians visited - including Boehner and Representative David Dreier, a Republican from California - but Senator Scott Brown, Republican of Massachusetts, was not among them. Brown, President Kennedy used in an image display in his special election campaign last year. In the display, and provides granular materials from a speech Kennedy 1962 on the use of tax relief to spur economy then turned brown. Democrats pan of this announcement, but Councillor Brown said it was a defining moment that helped ignite his campaign.
