The Oscar red carpet was full of celebrities wearing the latest fashions. Liz Kelly reviews Best and Worst Dressed at the Oscars:
The ceremony this year was disappointing Oscar in many ways. One of them was in vogue. Harvesting of this year, to produce clothes not even a fad buzzy. And wiith received much less bling on the red carpet, in May 2011 only in history as the year when Oscar fashion was a bit of a yawn. However, there was a certain brilliance - two stunners and stinkers - a second look.
The carefree Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein amazing (all for her off-key performance on stage), red carpet look host Anne Hathaway: a dress from Valentino archives (although we like the Most of his myriad-stage clothing changes), Helen Miren in a stunning black Vivienne Westwood and Versace stripped Jennifer Hudson.
The fashion in general before Cate Blanchett in a warm infusion of Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, Helena Bonham Carter in a number corset, she cooked with costume designer Colleen Atwood (still an improvement of their flights globes), Best Supporting Actress Winner Melissa Leo Marc Bouwer is structured, Elvis evoke F-bomb drop dress and Nicole Kidman in a white dress embroidered Christian Dior, who actually manages to give the Aussie battleship hips smoothly.
James Franco has the worst dressed list when he appeared in drag. As indicated Celebritology:

But in the context of the broadcast tonight Oscar was really a point? Or was it just another naked advertising (or fortunately non-nude) offers young, hip "audience?
Hank Stueven explained how he felt about the roller Franco Awards as host of the Academy 2011:

It turns out that hosting the Oscars, when the guy decides to take a rest.
