Here whale watching (WWSH) spoken connects trained volunteers with visitors along the coast of Oregon in each of two large migrations of gray whales years. The program aims to provide all visitors and more on whales and other marine life along the coast and have fun.
There are three training sessions offered per year. The training was held in Newport in November and will be in Charleston in mid-January and mid-February will be offered in Ilwaco, Washington volunteers must attend a training session before they can sit in a place WWHS. After training, they can be seasoned with a year for volunteers and volunteers are also encouraged to take refresher courses. Marine biologist Carrie Newell will load the months of January and February meetings and performing Ranger Morris Grover of Oregon State Parks Whale Watching Center. Early registration is recommended.
The peak hours are migration 26th December, early January to see the winter semester and March 19 to 26 for spring, but the whales migrate south from mid-December will be the end of May until 'at the end of January and in northern mid-March. Whales may also at other times of year to see. WWHS sites are along the coast of Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center in Cape State Park in Ilwaco disappointment, Washington, to Ninth Street Beach in Crescent City, California
Education is free for pre-registered participants and sign up for at least two days while on volunteers watch. The training includes two days of speakers, a Whale-Watching referance manual and two waterproof field guides.
