Chilean miner rescued Edison Pena is in Memphis for the celebration of today and tomorrow is the Mississippi River are taken on a private visit to the birthplace of Elvis and his childhood in East Tupelo.
During the 69 days he and 31 other miners were trapped underground in Chile, raised by the ghosts of the crew screaming classic Elvis Pena. Although he knows very little English, he addressed the press at a rendition of "Blue Suede Shoes".
Pena five-day visit includes stops in Memphis, the NBA Memphis Grizzlies, training and stay at the Peabody Hotel, located in the heart of the "City Blues."
Elvis fan participation in the celebration of King's birthday cake and punch today in the birthplace of Elvis Presley and the museum will be served, according to the Associated Press.
"We expect it will ever be discreet. It gives us the opportunity to visit with people," Dick Guyton, director of the Elvis Presley Memorial Foundation, said the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal.
In addition to leading his fellow prisoners, juvenile singing along to hits from Elvis Pena kept fit and active by jogging on the music of Presley. He made headlines last November when he attended the New York marathon.
