In announcing the vigil, the House Democrats sent a press release stating they were "sad, confused and upset" to learn about shooting.
Assistant House Democratic Leader Steve Farley and House Democratic Whip Matt Heinz, both of Tucson, and worked closely with Giffords said she is a champion of Arizona.
Organizers said the vigil is open to all ", sending their thoughts and prayers to the Congress Giffords, employees and others who were in this terrible event will join the victims."
