An abortion doctor who was Philadelphia minority and immigrant women in his clinic in the pair of scissors has been charged with several counts of murder in the death on Wednesday was a woman and seven infants whose spinal cord with section, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors charged Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 69, carried out with eight counts of murder in death Karnamaya Mongar, 41, a refugee from Nepal, high doses of anesthetic for a period of illegal abortions at the end of 2009 and received seven children were born, died and then placed in the West Philadelphia hospital Gosnell, the Women's Medical Society.
The prosecution laid their case in a 281-page Grand Jury document, the script reads like a macabre. Plastic bags and bottles of mineral water to keep the aborted fetuses were found hidden in Gosnell clinic. Pots with legs cut of babies with a tray, "said Philadelphia attorney, Seth Williams, in a statement.
Gosnell, a doctor who was not certified in obstetrics late abortions performed after 24 weeks, who are illegally employed, and employees who are not doctors, including a teenager trained, said prosecutors. Nine of his employees were also calculated.
"It is very important to remember that Mr. Gosnell is innocent," a lawyer for Mr. Gosnell, William J. Brennan said. "I hope there is no urgency in finding and that an opportunity to write this shop very long document."
In the Grand Jury document, prosecutors called Mr. Gosnell clinic "a baby Karner," peppered with remnants of the fetus and stank of urine, cat, furniture and ceilings stained with blood. Medical equipment was broken and the supplies were reused.
"The actual activity of the Women's Medical Society was not health, it was profit," said the document. It details a practice of selling prescription painkillers during the day and night, bar abortions for women who could not get pregnant because they were elsewhere.
If labor was induced and a baby is born, it would be Dr. Gosnell cutting into the neck and breaking his spinal cord in a process he called the killing "cutting". In one case, a 17-year-olds, was 30 weeks pregnant, prosecutors said Dr. Gosnell induced labor, cutting the fetus in the back and put his body in a shoebox. "The doctor joked that the baby was so big, he was able to walk to the bus stop," the document says.
