A soldier from Fort Hood, who survived the shooting in his new home with his new wife.
Staff Sgt. Patrick Zeigler was the Sunday night episode of ABC presented "Extreme Makeover. Home Edition "He was surprised with a new home and new life with his longtime girlfriend.
It is a home away from Patrick Zeigler summer.
Three thousand volunteers built a new house on land donated.
And "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" has given him a new base - a military wedding with his wife in a designer dress.
"My marriage was the culmination of the year we have seen together," said Zeigler broadcast on national television. "When I saw Jessica, it took the breath from the chest. I could not believe I wanted to marry this woman. "
News 8 Sgt Zeigler presented more than a year ago. He was the last survivor of the shooting at Fort Hood left the hospital.
Zeigler was shot four times. A bullet penetrated his skull, his left hand and left foot were virtually worthless.
We have his progress through rehabilitation, followed even if the slightest movement was a big step towards recovery.
He defied the predictions of doctors and he left.
At the end of this first step, he proposed to his girlfriend, Jessica Hansen.
"What he said was:" Will you marry me even if I shot? "And I said," Of course, Patrick. That has not changed, but I realize how much I love you "," Hansen said in the ABC program.
Sgt Zeigler is now back to serve on the working conditions at Fort Hood and his country.
He knows he is an army of volunteers to help him, and he has a wife that her new house a home.
"With the decline is clear to me, I'm enjoying every moment of my life, because life is very fragile, and I'm looking forward to a new life for us today," Ziegler said in the ABC series.
