WASHINGTON
The White House said the president Barack Obama is Gene Sperling as its new director of the National Economic Council, a role that gives Sperling general supervision of the management of economic policy of the name.
Sperling is a veteran of Washington with a balance of both parties. He ran by the Council under former President Bill Clinton, and is currently advisor to the Minister of Finance, Timothy Geithner (GYT 'only).
Sperling's appointment, which had been planned for days, comes amid a major overhaul of the White House level management positions such as management of the Obama campaign for his reelection.
Obama is seen as his new adviser Sperling Friday morning with other members of his new economic team during the observations on the economy. Sperling replace Lawrence Summers, Harvard University, is back.
