Despite media reports earlier Tuesday that Rich Rodriguez fired Michigan, athletic director Dave Brandon says no decision has been made around the car. Rodriguez and Brandon met for four hours on Tuesday and will meet again Wednesday to discuss the future of the coach.
This is quite unusual. Usually when a coach is always drawn from the meeting lasts about five minutes.
A spokesman said, in Michigan by e-mail Tuesday morning. "This is media speculation at this point the final voice in this matter is Dave Brandon and he did not and will not speak publicly until a final decision has been taken.
A team meeting is scheduled for Tuesday evening until 4 clock ET on Wednesday was postponed.
Rodriguez could save? It's impossible to say at this point. When Jim Harbaugh is not a realistic option for Michigan, I do not think Brandon would be off base by maintaining Rodriguez for another year and changes to defense personnel. On the other side of the bowl embarrassment and length of time without the aid is not an individual decision.
