Although Christmas is a distant memory for most western countries (with the exception of those bills persistent credit card), many Eastern European countries are just now embarking on the 'Christmas spirit with festive celebration of Epiphany.
For Orthodox Christians use the Julian calendar - 13 days behind the Gregorian calendar adopted by Catholics and Protestants - Christmas falls on Jan. 7. However, these celebrations have since been recalled by many Western Christians as "Three Kings" or the visit of the Magi to the infant Jesus.
Greece, Cyprus and Turkey, the day was marked by bold swimming races, while in Romania, the celebrations take equestrian ambience for many rural villages. Meanwhile, in the west, from children of all ages royal costumes for festive parades in countries like the Czech Republic and Poland.
