The 60-anniversary of the "Day the Earth Stood Still on" is celebrated on AMC this Friday at 9:00 pm ET. It's really hard to believe that the film is so old? What was so wonderful old movies is that they lack the technology and special effects goodies commonplace in movies today, so that, by relying on the invisible and imagination of the viewer on the edge of your seat drama, the provision of these films is so great. In the 20th and early 21th century late now, nothing is left to the imagination,. We see it all and each movie has more graphic that does nothing to the imagination. The film industry is centered on a feast for the eyes and the public expect no less.
Remakes and suites are almost all we get older. Imagination is not only lost for the spectators, but the industry as well. You can make a movie every ten to 15 years want to think about a remake, and the people they see something new, especially if the title changes. "The Day the Earth Stood Still on" was made in 1951 and has been some success in the U.S., and a huge success everywhere else. Politics played a large role in less status seeker welcome home.
It tells the story of a humanoid visitor to visit outer space from Earth to deliver a message, and was accompanied by a robot-eyed, destructive forces were outrageous. Gort is the name of the robot, and it has not been much we could expect from a sense of humor as his name. This oval hole sound was the explosion of a very powerful laser, without pity, everything he did.
The screenplay was written by Edmund H. North, and was appointed on a short story of 1940 Farewell to the Master by Harry Bates was written. Almost all the action takes place in Washington, DC. The cast included Michael Rennie, Patricia Neil, Sam Jaffe and Hugh Marlowe.
The film was renewed in 2008, starring Keanu Reeves and played around ⬠230 million.
If Hollywood would have asked, I would have told them super impose Sharon Stone Michael Rennie following order in a black suit with two antennas coming out of your head and say, Gort, I'll be back starting with Arnold Schwarzenegger voice. Otherwise, I would not change a thing.
If you have not seen the movie and you are a fan of classical science fiction, I recommend you do. If you've seen before and would like new, I suggest you check your local listings, Friday, January 14, 2011 e
