We're not quite finished with the threat of showers and thunderstorms. Although the potential of precipitation fall until Thursday night, a storm and associated cold front arrived Development Friday afternoon convection may cause serious or serious in Houston. This feature is an impressive decrease of temperature with it, just in time to ring in 2011. Once established, the cold air mass is probably here through the holiday weekend.
But while much of the need to deal with the cold of the United States for the duration of next week, I guess that will see the southern half of Texas some moderation next week. The impressive (-EPO/-AO/-NAO) lock signal ranges from Alaska to Greenland seems to be balanced (for a while at least) a shallow subtropical high over Cuba and southern Florida. The difference between the cold air should begin near the Gulf Coast, then north loop next Tuesday and Wednesday as a strong race shortwave 500 MB in northern Mexico. The rain and thunderstorms, so necessary in this part of the state are the likely result. I want to warn you, however, I see a number of important indicators of the cold for much of January, possibly to the detriment of the Bayou City until next weekend.
