7. December 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt has been called "one day live in infamy." Sixty-nine years ago today, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and killed more than 2,400 in the wake of the surprise attack marked the beginning of the Second World War. According to the Associated Press, today the last survivors of the attack on the base in the memory of those who lost their lives to collect.
Distance is no factor when it comes to attend the ceremony. AP reported that about a hundred survivors from all over the country to remember December 7, 1941 report.
The USS Arizona sank in the attack. Appropriately, the event is via the port of the USS Arizona, a place "where the remains of about 1,000 Marines are still buried," reported AP.
