New Leonid Meteor Shower 2010 â" The Leonid meteor shower is an annual event which takes place in every November, mostly in mid November. It is due to the material which is left over the comet Tempel-Tuttle during its trip through the solar system.
They appear like shower when it passes near Earthâs orbit. When Earth during its revolution passes near knots of Comet Material, gas and dust flares up and looks like a shower of meteors and the scene is very delightful.
The Leonid meteor shower of 2010 is happening now. According to the experts the leonids shall be at their best on November 18 and in the clear skies their frequency may range from 15 to 20 leonids per hour.
Joe Rao who is from space.com has advised that the best time to see the shower is from moon-set to the hour or two before sunrise. In the presence of moon it shall not be visible bright, so for the real scene to watch you have to wait for the moonset. Thousand of people shall see the view from the world over.
